2025 Audi e-tron GT Gets a Makeover, Now Makes up to 912 HP
The European premiere of the fastback EV introduces the new top-spec RS Performance model. Even the base e-tron GT now boasts 671 hp.
The 2025 Audi e-tron GT is receiving updates, including a larger 97.0-kWh battery and increased power output ranging from 671 to 912 horsepower. These enhancements make it a more appealing option in the electric sports sedan segment, positioning it as a strong competitor to the Porsche Taycan.
While details are currently limited to the European version, information regarding range estimates and pricing for the U.S. market is expected to be announced in the coming months. Additionally, all three models, the S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT Performance, feature not only cosmetic changes but also improvements to their batteries, all-wheel-drive powertrains, and chassis.
2025 Audi e-tron GT Redesigned Exterior
The 2025 e-tron GT features updated grille designs and a two-dimensional version of Audi’s four-ring logo. The base S model includes glossy black trim around its grille, while the RS models have wider side air intakes with prominent “L-shaped” elements. Various wheel designs are available, including new multispoke 20-inchers and forged 12-spoke wheels reminiscent of the 1991 Avus Quattro concept.
Interior Enhancements
Inside, the digital gauge cluster now provides more specific information about the EV’s battery status, such as temperature, preconditioning, and real-time charging rate.
The RS models offer trim-specific content, and the Performance model features a selectable white background for its display, inspired by the 1994 Audi RS2 Avant’s white analog gauges. A new panoramic sunroof with switchable clear and opaque glass is also available.
Powertrain and Battery Upgrades
Each e-tron GT model is equipped with a new rear-mounted motor derived from Audi’s PPE platform. The rear e-motor is about 22 pounds lighter than its predecessor, thanks to an optimized cooling system and redesigned components.
The base S model now produces 671 total horsepower, surpassing the outgoing high-performance RS e-tron GT’s 637-hp peak. The RS model now generates 845 hp, while the new Performance variant produces 912 hp.
Battery and Charging
The e-tron GT’s battery capacity has increased from 83.7 to 97.0 kWh, with improvements to its cooling system. The peak DC fast-charging rate has risen from 270 to 320 kilowatts, allowing the battery’s state of charge to go from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. An optional 22.0-kW onboard charger is available for Level 2 charging.
Enhanced Braking and Suspension
Audi has improved the braking system, adding larger steel discs as standard and offering tungsten carbide-coated brakes on RS models. The regenerative-braking system can now recuperate more energy, with a capability of 400 kW. The 2025 e-tron GT features a redesigned air suspension with two adjustable settings and an available “active” suspension that can control each wheel individually. The optional four-wheel-steering system has a more direct front-axle ratio and can turn the rear wheels up to 2.8 degrees.
Expected U.S. Details
While details are currently limited to the European version, including its availability for sale, U.S. information is expected to be announced in the coming months. Pricing for the outgoing 2024 Audi e-tron GT started at $107,995, with the RS model priced starting at $148,595.
